JOB SUMMARY:
This position will report to our office in Anchorage. Directly supervises and coordinates activities of the field crew.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist and coordinate with the Construction Team to manage field personnel to complete tasks on time and within budget.
  • Support and implement the Safety Program for both the site and company.
  • Collaborate with design firm to ensure a timely and complete design is created within project scope and budget.
  • Organize mobilization and demobilization activities.
  • Supervise heavy equipment operators and other craft laborers on construction sites.
  • Examine and inspect work progress and equipment to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers.
  • Confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors in order to resolve problems and to coordinate activities.
  • Coordinate work activities with other construction and environmental project activities.
  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations and placement of structures and equipment using measuring and marking equipment.
  • Record information such as personnel, production, and operational data on specified forms and reports; communicate with Construction/Project Manager.
  • Assign work to employees based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs.
  • Provide assistance to workers engaged in construction or environmental activities using hand tools and equipment.
  • Arrange for repairs of equipment and machinery.
  • Suggest or initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and hires.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
  • Valid Driver s License required; CDL preferred
  • Minimum of five years experience supervising or directing construction crews
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite Products required
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
  • HAZWOPER certification preferred
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • In addition to office work, predominantly field assignments outdoors
  • Outdoor conditions may be subject to changes in weather conditions and noise levels
  • Must be willing and able to travel and work long hours to support rigorous timelines
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Working at potentially contaminated sites
  • Standing and stooping for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity with good hand-eye coordination and motion control for handling equipment in the field

PHYSICAL/VISUAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
PHYSICAL: Standing and stooping for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity with good hand-eye coordination and motion control for handling equipment in the field. Occasionally- standing, bending over, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing/pulling, repetitive use of legs, grasping, lifting/carrying from less than 10 lbs up to 75 lbs, eye/hand coordination, and fine manipulation. Frequently- sitting, walking, lifting from 26 lbs to 50 lbs, talking.

VISUAL: Continuously- color vision. close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception. Frequently- distance vision, ability to adjust focus.

MENTAL: Continuously- thinking analytically, using effective verbal communication, making decisions, and examining/observing details. Frequently- using effective written communication, handling stress & emotions, concentrating on tasks, discriminating colors, remembering details, adjusting to changes.

ENVIRONMENTAL: Occasionally- Indoor hot/cold temps, outside hot/humid temps, sharp objects/tools, heavy machinery, fumes, gases, odors, dust, grease, oil, mud, moving mechanical parts, noise, wet slippery floors/surfaces. Frequently- outdoor cold temperatures, dirty (soil), working alone or with others. Working at potentially contaminated sites.
