The Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association, Inc. is the federally recognized tribal organization of the Aleut people in Alaska. The mission of the organization is to provide self-sufficiency and independence of the communities served by advocacy, training, technical assistance and economic enhancement. The VISTA will help coordinate local efforts to improve access to nutritious food and connect economically disadvantaged people to health services. These connections to health services will help establish healthy initiatives and empower communities to live safe and healthy lives. The project will alleviate poverty in the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands by connecting low-income people to wellness programs and services. The VISTA will be stationed at the APIA office in Anchorage.
